The fundamental design goal for Horizon Apartments was to capture and integrate the full sweep of the natural landscape while ensuring residents felt a consistent sense of privacy and individual dwelling. The expansive site and its dramatic, long-distance views demanded an architectural language that felt both lightly placed and firmly anchored—maximizing transparency without sacrificing the essential feeling of refuge.

We achieved this through a modular, stepped massing that guarantees every unit has an unobstructed sightline, coupled with the strategic use of deep, cantilevered balconies that provide necessary shade and a sense of enclosure. The result is a collection of residences that are in constant dialogue with the vast horizon, yet remain a highly personal and protected retreat.
