The defining design mandate for The Brickworks was to honor the site's rich industrial heritage while simultaneously forging a space optimized for contemporary living and flexibility. The challenge lay in translating the massive scale, robust materials, and inherent darkness of the original factory structure into a series of residences that felt warm, light-filled, and human-scaled.

This was achieved through the careful preservation and exposure of the original brick and steel structure, paired with the strategic insertion of large, modern glazing systems to maximize daylight. The result is a building that celebrates the imposing permanence of its past while providing unmistakable comfort and adaptability for the future.
